Hellebores out!

Folks,
Sorry I have not posted in over a month. It has been very busy here leaving me no time for myself. And I joined Facebook which has taken away my blogging time. Facebook brought me a contact who was looking for me to use 2 images in an upcoming book so that was a win win.

So our hellebores are blooming and winter arrived yesterday. The 1 1/2 inches of snow we got is mostly gone, the back steps still are covered in the shade.

Semi double hellebore, supposed to be a picotee.
This is my Romanian hellebore, been struggling for at least 2 years in the garden.
Here is what one plant looked like before the snow yesterday.
 Our most common helebore.
Hoping this opens soon, freezing temps the the next 5 days.

Likely my most beautiful double hellebore

This hellebore is hazy from the camera lens.
Penguin the hen that gets out all the time. Just because it's called chicken wire it does not mean she is supposed to perch on it!
Bright and cheery hellebores this morning when it was 29 degrees outside.

We also have 2 crocuses blooming in the garden. Bees are out drinking from the melting snow.

Nice to see you back here. Your hellebores are always something to envy. The doubles are especially wonderful. My 'Pink Frost' is really blooming nicely this year. Is your blog on FB too or just you? I have both. Will head over to see if I can find you.

Very pretty Randy! I keep thinking about getting some Hellebores and then never getting around to it. I really should just make the jump and plant some.

Really Randy??? Hellebores blooming? Do you have to rub it in? Ha ha, they're beautiful! I'm sure we all have hellebore envy now.
What type of chickens did you inherit? Is Penguin a Black Australorp? Looks like a barred Plymouth Rock in the pen also?

Beautiful as always...Just love those doubles. Will they be okay with the freezing temperatures coming?
Going to be extremely cold here the next few days.

Games are very popular and provide entertainment for all kinds of people. Most homes have at least a single gaming platform. Obviously that shouldn't mean that you already are aware of everything there is to understand about video games. Use this article to provide you with some great suggestions to enhance all that your video games have to offer.

You should play with the specific equipment needed for the game of your choosing. You may need more than just one controller. Search online or look at the game box to find out what equipment you require. This gives you a heads up so that you can get what is needed beforehand.

Create a safe online gaming environment for your kids. Keep track of the people they're playing with. Certain unsavory individuals have been known to reach children via online computer games. It is up to you to protect your children and limit their playmates to those you both know.

Before you allow your children to play a video game, ensure you understand its rating. Some games have violent content and are meant for people that are over 18. Violence can give your children the wrong values, which may show later in life. Try to refrain from online games that promote violence for your children's sake.

Many games provide an online site which tells you whether your computer meets the minimum requirements for the game. First you download it, then this unique page runs you through some tests to see if you meet gaming requirements. If you don't like downloading things, bear in mind that you could just get the information and then delete the download.

Keep the computer you're on clear and make sure everything is up-to-date. If you game often on a particular system, avoid installing too many applications. Defragging the hard drive and using ScanDisk are very helpful. This allows you to keep everything on your computer running smoothly so you don't experience any slow down.

With a game that's fairly popular it can be tempting to buy everything out there for it like expansions and upgrades right when you begin playing. This can be expensive! Try maintaining discipline. Wait until you have played through the game before purchasing additional content.

Supervise your child if he or she plays online online games. While most of these games are rated by the ESRB, some also warn that in-game situations can change, falling into unrated territory. Many games offer chat features and customization options for characters and equippable items. When you take the time to monitor the online game play, you can ensure that your child is interacting in an environment that you are comfortable with.

Check out ratings when buying games for children. These games are rated for a reason. Any game with ratings like A or M are totally inappropriate for children. Check the website of the ESRB to learn more.

All games have ratings thanks to the ESRB. Games are appropriate for ages 3 and older if they receive an EC or Early Childhood rating. If your children are six and older, a rating of E is appropriate. A rating of E+10 is for people older than 10 years old. If your game is rated T, it is suggested that you be 13 or older to play it. "M" (mature) rated games are for people who are at least 17 years old. AO indicates the game is just for adults and RP signifies "Rating Pending."

Figure out how to operate the safety and parental controls of any gaming system that comes into your home. You can likely make adjustments that keep kids from viewing mature content. Some allow each gaming profile to be customized separately, allowing adults to enjoy games not meant for younger audiences.

No matter where you are playing the game you will have a great time! Keep learning so you can always be on top of the best suggestions and techniques.
