Peas in the Snow

Today as you saw in the previous posting we received 3 inches of snow. The Sugar Snap Peas were covered up entirely. About 3 pm today I took this photo as you can see the peas are peeking out. Bad news we might get 13 degrees in the AM, good news 4 days ahead in the upper 60s to 70s.
Meg, yes that is her in person!! My lovely lady and best friend too!
Dot the wonder dog, at 13 she still causes a lot of trouble being a Jack Russel Terrier.
Daisy Mae she's as old as Dot, yet follows her about anywhere as her partner in crime. You won't see her jumbing as she has bad hips.

Hi Randy and Meg, Looks like your doggies are having fun in the snow. Great pictures and the ones down farther of the dragonflies are amazing. The quality is excellent - can see every line in the wings. Thanks for stopping by my blog Randy.

It worked!! I got your feed through blotanical today. And in less than 72 hours. Love the dogs, my daughter reminded me that yesterday was Barretts birthday. He is a seriously overweight 7 year old black lab. Have a great day!

Hi Randy & Meg, Glad your peas are still there...they'll be fine, don't you think?
Both Dot and Daisy Mae look sprite and chipper for 13...true puppies at heart. They are probably completely confused by the white stuff!!
I do hope your veggies are ok with this unusual snow we've all received!!
PS Thanks for the trout lily offer...I've never had one before. It's cool to know your are all over the place--mine probably won't even take;)

Your poor little peas! I hope they can survive. Crazy weather jumps, snow to 70's in a week! Looks like you all had lots of fun enjoying the snow!
Is Daisy Mae a Cavalier or another type of spaniel?

Randy and Meg,
I think you are living my dream life. Well, my summer dream life anyway. Home in the NC mountains with a garden. The snow? Not so much. But it's temporary and it sure makes those adirondack chairs look interesting.

Spring is soon to come.

Those peas will be just fine - remembered my first gardening year when we had a late dump. So proud of myself that all was well. Very surprised to see that you got hit with snow. With any luck it won't last long. Those dogs are as sweet as can be. Welcome to Blotanical!

Oh pease! Makes me wish I was back in NC so I could be gardening already! Your yard is lovely!

Rusty,

I believe the peas will be fine, even after last nights freeze.

Raingardener,

Thanks for the kind comments on my photos, if you like dragonflies and butterflies you just might want to subscribe to this blog.

Heather,
Thanks for helping me get my Blotanical set up. We don't know any of our animals b days and they are all rescue animals. Forgot to tell you we have baby goats next door!

Jan,
Let me know if those trout lilies make it, I'll see if I can mark some plants for digging up later, I'm very forgetful though.

Catherine,
Daisy is some kind of mixed spaniel, sort like Stump the winning dog this year at Westminster.

Meems,
Glad to see you back! The place is not a paradise yet, the to do list could be month long, the butterfly gardens are a total mess.

Jenn,
We both got a kick out of your comment.

Tina,
Getting photo of Meg is like pulling teeth she does not like it, and she let me post this one.

Barbara,
Thanks for visiting our blog. Winter is leaving tomorrow night.

Pam,
Yes you could be gardening, if you want to bring some gloves, I have plenty of shovels. There is 4 beds that need lots of work still.

I saw that picture of the white dog and thought "how cute" and then saw that she's a Jack Russell! We had a Jack Russell too, that we had to say good-bye to in August -- she was 20 years old. Yes, JRTs are troublesome -- and wonderful. :)
