Here are the two primroses I gave Meg for Valentines Day. We never know if they will survive our hot dry summers. I have one that is at least 10 years old, many others have not fared so well here.
Both of these primroses have huge blooms, hope we'll see them in the yard for years to come.
This is one of the helleborus niger that the buds were iced over many times this winter. It was all white now changing to pink. The other Helleborus niger double we bought last year did not make it....
This hellebore was brought over from Meg's yard several years ago. The buds are looking great and you can see where I pruned away the old leaves.
Crocus 'blue bird', this is the second species of crocus to bloom here this year. Looks like these have had some bulb losses, much thinner than last year.

ReplyDeleteBeautiful blooms! Primrose were very popular in Germany but I never had luck with them for some strange reason. Never could decide what I was doing wrong...
ReplyDeleteYour birdbath is wonderful! We may be investing in some new ones due to the harsh freezing temps we had this year. We normally do not have such cold winters and leave our birdbaths out but this year, the cold got two of them. Sigh....
I have big buds on my daffys so they should be open soon...
I bet Meg loved the primroses. The H. niger is lovely.

I still have a month or more before hoping to see any Crocus :(
