Chanterelle cibarius these are one of the most famous edible mushrooms in the world. And to find them right here in paradise. We have also found a few Morels in the spring and Oyster Mushrooms can be found in large numbers on rotting tulip poplars.
They have a slight smell of apricots! Your looking at our harvest below.
They are most pretty and I hope taste great for you. And I know you are just kidding on the type but please make sure!
ReplyDeleteI don't think I've ever seen Chanterelles. Always makes me think of the character on Buffy the Vampire Slayer who came up with the name Chanterelle for herself. lol

ReplyDeleteEnjoy! They look like chantrelles to me, and I went mushroom hunting a lot as a kid. And if worst comes to worst, there's actually nothing very poisonous that looks like a chantrelle. So, no worries.

I generally don't like the look of mushrooms because I've seen ugly ones most of the times in my aunt's garden, but this one looks very pretty.

The store mushrooms are kind of bland, these should have lots of flavor and these would be about 8-10 times more expensive than the standard store mushrooms.
They taste great with cream sauce and on toast. Enjoy.....

We enjoyed eating the chanterelle mushrooms they were yummy. Sauteed them in margarine with thyme from the garden. Might have to good find another batch of them in the woods.
