Harbingers of Spring

I think I spelled harbinger correctly? Well to me they are butterflies Spring Azure and Falcate Orangetip. In the next few days or weeks these should be reported being seen here in North Carolina. More of my photos of these beauties see Spring Azures.

The bottom photo is a male Falcate Orangetip on Winter Cress a winter annual, bet that twists your brain a winter annual?

  1. Hi Randy and Meg, you take beautiful pictures. I might give the weed thing a go this year if it's too much. We like butterfies too! If you haven't already been introduced to http://blotanical.com you guys should check it out. Hundreds of other garden blogs to network with. Nice to have one place to look for them. I like reading them a lot more than I like writing them.
I love your projects and posts so far. Keep them coming.

  4. Dear Randy and Meg,
So good to meet you. I also love the butterflies and the dragonflies...bees and all bugs in general! I love seeing your beauties. Thank you!
In the winter I often travel so I can see a butterfly or two. Just came home from Texas. Saw a few, new to me, species. The Mexican Bluewing made me gasp!
Looking forward to reading your journal and getting to know you and your bugs!
I post most of my backyard bugs on my main blog, Q's Corner. I do like to walk and when the weather permits I take the camera for a stroll. Walking in Beauty is my walking journal. Thank you for coming by and walking with me.
Spring is just around the corner I hope to get out into the woods soon. I will be looking for spring wildflowers and butterflies~!
    Namaste,
    Sherry

  5. Hi Randy and Meg,

Wow! Your butterfly photos are so beautiful. And so different from the ones we have here.
Thank you for visiting my blog and for adding me to your blog list. If the harbingers of spring look like this, I can't imagine how actual spring will be! There'll be plenty to view/read. Really looking forward to that....

    Have a pleasant week.

  8. Excellent photographs/subject.

In Puerto Rico there are not many butterflies available since the isle
    is becoming a concrete/asphalt platform.
