Belize trip coming up!

Yes Randy is going to Belize in December! I've never been out of the country other than to Canada when I was a kid. We'll be there for 5 days looking for butterflies, dragonflies and birds. And we'll visit some Mayan ruins too! Anyone with good recommendations on places to see feel free to leave a comment(s)

Other news the garden has been partially hit with a freeze, because most of the garden is surrounded by woods we are not hit directly right away. Our leaves are about half way done dropping, I mulched in the back yard leaves today.

Spring bulbs I have to plant are 12 Fondant and 12 Purple Sensation hyacinths. I have ordered from Brent and Beckys Bulbs these spring bulbs. One thing that gets me is I ordered them on November 3 and they will compile my order on November 13 than ship them within 5 days. They do have an incredible assortment and are almost local being 4-5 hours from here.

These are what I ordered:
Narcissus - Pipit
Narcissus - Stratosphere
Narcissus - Golden Echo
Narcissus - henriquesii
Narcissus - Hawera
Narcissus - Little Gem
Narcissus - Tiny Bubbles
Crocus-Spring - ancyrensis 'Golden Bunch'
Crocus-Spring - chrysanthus 'Blue Bird'
Crocus-Spring - chrysanthus 'Blue Pearl'
Crocus-Spring - sieberi ssp. sublimis 'Tricolor'
Eremurus - himalaicus
Hyacinthoides - hispanica 'Queen of Pinks'
Hyacinthus - orientalis 'Delft Blue'
Hyacinthus - orientalis 'Pink Pearl'
Muscari - macrocarpum 'Golden Fragrance'

  7. Janet,

I figured you had to have visited Brent and Beckys. Enjoy the pears and pomagrantes.

    Wilma,

Thanks for these sites, Sharna Meg's daughter spent 7 months in Belize banding birds and these were not on her list of places, so I'll have to check them out. We do plan on at least one river trip. Both of us are very experienced canoeists, we like to check out that option too.

All you can bet I'll have a lot of phots from this Belize trip.

  13. Randy-
We haven't been to Belize but have loved trips to the Yucatan Peninsula (as well as many other places.

Exploring nature in other places is great fun.

    I'm sure you'll have a blast -- enjoy!
