I saw them when I went there today, but I figured it was probably too late to plant them.

I started out with one Japanese Anemone plant when we first moved here twelve years ago. Now, I've spread them two two other flower beds, and they're wonderful late in the season.MLighthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01676392722692257410noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32800870.post-38019334540911894802010-11-19T14:14:44.348-05:002010-11-19T14:14:44.348-05:00Anemones can spread if they're happy where the...Anemones can spread if they're happy where they are. I'd sever the root piece above each potential new plant and put the plantlet (is that a word) on the surface of some compost in a pot, cover with grit and let it find it's feet (roots).

I've found Jap anemones the easiest thing to take root cuttings from and I'm no expert.

Honorine Jobert is a Rob (ourfrenchgarden)https://www.blogger.com/profile/05087218232138304239noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32800870.post-58688549422074307812010-11-19T00:10:18.816-05:002010-11-19T00:10:18.816-05:00That crocus is really very very beautifulThat crocus is really very very beautifulAndreahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06044386271018560595noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32800870.post-23843363398345909802010-11-18T22:20:08.569-05:002010-11-18T22:20:08.569-05:00Buy local if you can find it- absolutely! I am not sure what got them this time. I see gardens where they flourish but not here. What a treat to have a bloom of your Autumn Crocus so soon after planting. It must have been pretty happy to get buried in your soil. ;>)Carolhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01067132532095325169noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32800870.post-25189948931043630682010-11-18T18:38:42.539-05:002010-11-18T18:38:42.539-05:00Not a bad deal at all. They are tough but don't do well with tree roots as I have learned. You'll enjoy them so darned much. I simply love them. I had to go back to my friend's house and get more and just planted them today. She says they need sun but for some reason I keep thinking shade. tinahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17415302577518111227noreply@blogger.com
